Paris Orly Airport (ORY) is the second largest airport in Paris, France. It is France’s busiest airport for domestic travel and serves more than 30 million passengers a year. It is a secondary hub for Air France and Transavia France’s main homebase. It is also a hub for Air Caraibes, and an operating base for Corsair, French Bee, La Compagnie, Vueling, and easyJet. It is 13km (8mi) south of Paris.

Orly Airport is most popular for flights from France

Paris has two main airports, Orly (ORY) and Charles de Gaulle (CDG). CDG is the larger of the two and offers more international flights. Choosing between ORY and CDG airports in Paris

In many cases, it will be cheaper to book your direct flight at Paris Orly Airport than to book at Charles de Gaulle (CDG). One of the reasons is that CDG features more international flights and routes from larger airlines. This makes it harder to book discounted flights with CDG.

One of the other good things about booking your direct flight to Orly Airport is that it is smaller and usually has fewer crowds. This can help to make your time spent at the airport more enjoyable. It is also usually more convenient to reach Paris from Orly Airport than it is from CDG airport.

Tips for getting transport from Orly Airport to Paris

There are several convenient options for getting public transport from Orly Airport if you want to reach central Paris.

The fastest option is taking the Metro 14 Line. It runs from the airport to the heart of central Paris, near the Louvre. Tickets cost just over 10 EUR, and the transit time is about 25 minutes. The first train leaves at 5:30am and the last train leaves at 12:34am Sunday to Thursday, and at 1:34am on Fridays and Saturdays. Tickets for the Metro 14 Line include free transfers for up to two hours.

Another good option is taking the RER B to the Orlyval train. This will also take you into central Paris. OrlyVal is a shuttle train that connects to the RER B line, which provides direct access to central Paris. Hours of operation are 6:00am-11:35pm. Tickets cost about 15 EUR, and the expected transit time is under 40 minutes.

A third option is to take the Metro 7 and Tram 7 lines. This will take you longer, usually over an hour, to reach central Paris. However, it is a cheaper option, usually under 10 EUR.

Taxis to Paris will be expected to cost you between 35 to 45 EUR. The expected travel time to reach the city is approximately 30 minutes. Car rental counters are also available from each terminal at the airport.
