Transavia’s operating bases
As a low-cost carrier, Transavia operates point-to-point flights without the need to connect passengers. Thus, it has no hubs, instead operating from three bases in the Netherlands:
Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS): The main base with over 60 direct routes, spanning Europe, the Mediterranean, and increasingly the Middle East.
Eindhoven (EIN): A secondary base with lots of flights to the Mediterranean. You can find over 25 routes departing from Eindhoven.
Rotterdam/The Hague (RTM): Almost exclusively focused on providing affordable airfare to holiday spots within 5 hours of Central Netherlands.
Domestic flights
Transavia has historically offered a small domestic network linking its three bases, but not anymore.
Given the Netherlands’ compact size and developed train network, domestic flights are not viable.
Thus, currently, Transavia is a purely international airline.
Transavia’s intra-Europe direct flights
Here are some of Transavia’s flights within the Old Continent, including popular holiday and coastal destinations in Southern Europe:
Amsterdam (AMS) - Alicante (ALC): Transavia’s busiest route with more than 20 flights per week.
Amsterdam (AMS) - Faro (FAO): Fly direct to South Portugal’s primary seaside resort town.
Eindhoven (EIN) - Malaga (AGP): A popular route to Southern Spain.
Rotterdam (RTM) - Alicante (ALC): A route unique to Transavia, operated 1-2 times per day.
Eindhoven (EIN) - Heraklion (HER): Direct service to the largest city in Crete.
Flights outside Europe with Transavia
Transavia is increasingly flying to destinations outside of Europe, though staying true to its niche of holiday destinations and tourist hotspots.
Here are some direct flights by Transavia, should you wish to leave Europe:
Amsterdam (AMS) - Dubai (DXB): A new direct route and the airline’s longest at just under 7 hours in the air.
Amsterdam (AMS) - Hurghada (HRG): A popular leisure route to Egypt’s foremost seaside destination.
Amsterdam (AMS) - Amman (AMM): A direct link to the Jordanian capital.
Eindhoven (EIN) - Marrakech (RAK): Three flights per week to the famous Moroccan city.
Rotterdam (RTM) - Tangier (TNG): One of the several cities in Morocco connected by direct flights from Rotterdam.
In total, Transavia flies to 7 countries outside of Europe, although flights depend on seasonality and demand.
